Warsaw Tournament - this weekend!
Dear Players,
We're thrilled to see you at the goban this coming weekend. We'd like to share a few important details to help you prepare.
📍 How to find us?
The tournament is held at the University of Warsaw Library (BUW), ul. Dobra 56/66, on level -1.
The easiest way in is through the entrance from Lipowa Street - this Google Maps photo shows exactly which doors to use. Once inside, head downstairs and walk straight ahead - you won't miss us. The room has glass walls, so just look out for the gobans! 😄
🌡️ Heat wave - stay hydrated
This weekend is forecast to be extremely hot - temperatures may reach up to 39°C. Please make sure to drink plenty of water! We will have water available on site. The good news is that the games take place on level -1, which has central air conditioning - we visited this week and can confirm it's wonderfully cool in there. 🧊
📋 Registration - Saturday, 8:30-9:30
The tournament opens with mandatory registration on Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30. All participants are required to check in in person. During registration, please report any rank changes, planned round absences, or other organisational matters.
⏱️ Skipping rounds
If you need to skip a round, please let us know as early as possible before that round starts. Please note: players in the top bar are not allowed to skip rounds - this is a requirement under the tournament rules.
📝 No electronic recording devices
In accordance with the tournament regulations, recording games using electronic devices is not permitted. Paper kifu sheets and pens will be provided for anyone who wishes to keep a record of their game.

✅ Reporting results
The winner of each game is responsible for promptly reporting the result by marking it on the list at the referee's table. Please don't forget - timely result collection helps us keep the tournament on schedule.

There are plenty of good lunch options near the venue:
- Elektrownia Powiśle - food hall with a wide variety of options
- Bar Mleczny Prasowy Powiśle - a classic milk bar at affordable prices
- DAEBAK - Korean canteen - great for fans of Asian cuisine
- ...and many more nearby!
🎉 After party - Saturday after round 3
After the third round on Saturday, you're invited to an informal get-together! We'll meet at Elektrownia Powiśle (map), where the food hall offers restaurants and pubs for everyone. We'll try to grab a big table together - a great chance to chat, unwind, and celebrate (or commiserate 😄).
