Interesting facts about the mine
- Bochnia Salt Mine is the oldest salt mine in Poland, listed by UNESCO, and one of the most fascinating places to visit in the country.
- In addition to sightseeing, the mine has a unique microclimate and is frequently visited for health reasons. It is especially recommended for people with thyroid problems — the iodine concentration in the mine’s air is about 7× higher than above the Baltic Sea.
- The mine’s passageways extend for about 25 km, of which around 3 km are open to tourists.
- On Saturday evening we’ll take a tour, and in addition to walking:
- we’ll ride the underground shuttle train
- we’ll take a boat trip through brine waters — one of the deepest places in the world where tourists can travel by boat.
The tournament will take place about 250 meters underground, in one of the largest chambers, close to the accommodation and dining areas.
Behind the dining hall, there is also a playground and a football pitch.
